My students need the Exploring Forces and Motion lab, the Exploring Gravity lab, and the Exploring Simple Machines lab to reinforce and extend their learning in science.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a title 1 school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. I have high expectations that my students will grow and achieve beyond the expectations set for them. We study STEM topics such as robotics, engineering and coding along with our curriculum.
School is a safe and fun place for my students.
They enjoy coming to school and learning through hands on, engaging activities. For many of my students, school is the highlight of their day.
My Project
The Exploring Force and Motion Kit will allow the students to test various surfaces for friction resistance and investigate ways to decrease friction using wheels and rollers. My students will be able to measure volume and weight of different objects and calculate the density of those objects using the Gravity lab Kit. Using this kit, the students will be able to establish the relationship between mass and weight. With the Exploring Simple Machines Kit, the students will investigate pulleys, wheels, and axle mechanisms and levers, the advantages and efficiencies offered by each of these science kits. These kits will reinforce and extend the fourth grade standards students are required to master.
As the students conduct these investigations, they will study, explore, and become familiar with science concepts.
My students will benefit by conducting investigations in science class since they will be making connections to real objects in their daily life. Knowing that in science class they will be doing hands-on activities that foster engagement and help them become enthusiastic learners, will improve their daily lives.
