This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am fortunate to be an educator in the city of Kenosha, WI with a group of fabulous 4th graders. Our school is at the 98% poverty level. Our students are very diverse and 75% of our students are minorities. Bringing out the best of my students, academically, socially, and emotionally, is a top priority. I believe the pandemic has created a new set of challenges for my students. My students' mental and physical health plays a huge impact in decreasing the academic gaps widened by the pandemic.

My Project

Your generous donation will provide granola bars for a healthy snack for my students each school day. My 4th graders receive a free or reduced lunch each day, however, with lunchtime at 1:15 pm, my students are often pausing to share how hungry they are and showing a significant loss of stamina the last hour before lunch.

I would love to provide a healthy snack each day to my student to assist with energy and motivtional levels.

Thank you, in advance, for supporting my classroom's health and wellness, to ultimately reach our academic goals.
