This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Personal whiteboards is something I've always wanted for my students, and wished I had them on several occasions. I've been using sticky notes in replace of whiteboards to give individual answers. It would be so much more cost effective to have whiteboards for students to give quick answers and ensure they are learning. I teach science, but science incorporates both Math and ELA, so we are incorporating many different ideas and whiteboards will help me check for understanding quickly. We are also doing hands-on activities on a weekly basis, and many individual projects. With these projects, the students go through markers, colored pencils, and crayons very fast. I have been purchasing these for my students, and it would be an amazing help to have a large box in our classroom for them to use.
