This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students have showed a great interest in project based learning this year. Students take the lead and have created meaningful projects in math, science and social studies. This gives students an opportunity to have ownership of their learning beyond textbooks and worksheets.
Your donation will allow us to replenish basic supplies to continue our end of the year projects.
These supplies specifically will help kick off our social studies project where my students research and showcase their native country or a country of their choice. Over 70% of my students identify as English Language Learners and take pride in their culture. We will have an international night at our school which will showcase over 16 countries represented in our entire school building. My students are eager to begin their research and display their own cultural heritage to their families and peers.
