My Students
I teach a wonderful group of sixth-grade students in a high needs school in Charlotte, North Carolina. About 60 percent of the students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many students do not come prepared to class and it is very disheartening to me.
My students come in eager to learn with the materials that we have provided to them.
The teachers at our school go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure every child's need is met. The teachers want students to be successful and ready to learn every day.
My Project
The new resources needed will help improve the smell, look, and feel of the classroom. I want the classroom to feel more home like where students can embrace the learning environment and make it their own. The new air freshener smell along with the positive accent sayings will motivate and inspire student learning. I plan on placing them around the room where students can see and reflect on their message. The dustpan and broom will serve to help students tidy up the classroom and be responsible to keep the area clean. The classroom is our home. The materials such as the adhesive bandages, tissue boxes, stamp pads and ink, are needed as these are used on a daily basis and I have replaced them multiple times throughout this school year. Lastly, the printer stand will be a great addition as it will serve to keep the new printer that I received for the classroom. I want the printer to be out and ready for use by students and teachers.
