My Students

My students attend an arts charter school in the red desert of Southern Utah, where their learning is supported by music, art, theater, technology, and dance! Our Title 1 school is a free, public charter, and we have kids from all backgrounds and income levels. They are extremely creative, imaginative, and busy!

My Project

The rise of technology is contributing to underdeveloped kids. More than ever, students are lacking fine and gross motor skills. This has been especially apparent to me in my students this year! COVID quarantines, distance learning and hyper vigilance have been a necessity, but kids are missing out on so many social and physical opportunities.

I want to give my students a wide variety of activities that they can use to develop gross and fine motor skills, problem solving, and logic through independent play.

I would love for them to develop strength and incorporate movement into my classroom with more flexible seating options, and I want to be able to provide logic and STEM kits that they can use on a regular basis.
