Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.

Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online.

Many depend on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners.

My Project

These items will help our students be able to stay organized and have what they need right at home. The binders will be used to keep their at-home learning packets in. This way everything can be kept in one convenient place and not be lost. When the time comes to be able to come back to school it will be easy for them to collect and bring back. The camera will help our zoom calls. My goal each week with our group zoom call is to do a science experiment, a read-aloud, or some type of scavenger hunt. The camera will help so that I do not have to pick up my computer and move it around in order for the students to be able to see what I am doing. With the uncertainty of what school will look like next year all of these items will continue to be used either at home or in the classroom or a mixture of both. The best part is that my students will already know how to use them because I am lucky enough to be able to move up to the next grade level with my current students!

Due to the Pandemic, our students have missed out on so much!

Having these items will not only put a smile on their face and some normalcy back in their lives but will also help them succeed for the rest of this school year and into the next school year.
