Help me give my students an opportunity for project-based learning. These raised garden beds will help my students to create a classroom garden. This will help them to build science, social studies, reading and writing skills.

My Project

I can remember back to elementary school, how many fun projects that we had in order to deepen our learning. That is the goal of this project. With a classroom garden, my students will learn essential skills through discovery and interaction with plants. We plan to use the raised gardening beds to plant and harvest fruits and vegetables in our schools' courtyard.

Project-based learning has research-based results and keeps kids engaged.

There are several education benefits that a classroom garden will bring. Students will learn critical science skills by learning about how plants grow, students will learn about the environment, photosynthesis, and the growth cycle from seed to harvest. They can connect their gardening to the ancient civilizations we are learning about in social studies. We have read books about classroom gardens, and they have written persuasive letters about the topic! As you can see, there will be so many cross curricular benefits from the garden.

My students are the greatest kids in the world. They are smart, hard-working, fun, and curious. Please help to make this project a reality for them!
