Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Did you know that bats & bees are misunderstood animals? My third graders are inexquistive learners who are dreaming of new, engaging nonfiction books that will support their learning. Due to current budget cuts in the state of California extra dollars for new classroom library books is rare.

My third graders are a fun, intelligent, and curious group of scholars who are passionate about misunderstood animals.

Many of my students are activitists who want to change bats and bees reputation in our community. We are a Title 1 school in City Heights, California where more than 15 languages and dialects are spoken on our campus. Many of our students have immigrated to the United States from war torn regions from around the world. All of our students receive free lunch and breakfast.

My Project

Your gift will be used to support my students during their reader's workshop and writing block. Their guiding question is-"why are bats and bees misunderstood animals?" Through the course of this project my students will work in cooperative learning groups as they read books, take notes, and make classroom presentation with a visual. Your gift will include colorful, rich, engaging nonfiction books on bats and bees to spruce up our library. Some famous authors include, Gail Gibbons & TIME for Kids books.

Your gift will give my students the opporuntity to emersed themselves in new and engaging nonfiction books.

My students will take their research skills and share their knowledge with community. This project will support their passion for misunderstood animals.
