This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 3-year-old learners who come from multi-ethnic backgrounds and live in a low income urban environment. Some are struggling with economic hardships and family issues. But they are resilient. They are creative, bright, and energetic. They have learned to care for each other and are using their curiosity to explore and observe the world around them.

With all of the experiences this school year, my students have grown into eager learners.

They deserve more of these hands-on engaging experiences to help them continue their growth.

My Project

Transitioning from going to school daily to being at home all the time has been an abrupt change for my children. Many of my students' parents have reached out to me, explaining they cannot draw a picture of a way that they care about each other because they do not have the means to do this at home.

Crayons, markers, and paper are basic art supplies that will allow my students to continue to engage with their work.

This will help my families to cope with some of the stress caused by this drastic change and give my students an outlet through which to pour their emotions.
