My Students
Our two, three and four year old students with disabilities are enthusiastic and ready to learn. They are curious and motivated, participating in a formal school setting for the first time. Whether learning on-site or remotely, they will benefit from identifying and managing their emotions during these challenging times. Our public school in the Bronx is made up of eleven classes of 3-K and Pre-K students.
Despite the complex challenges they face, our young students with disabilities demonstrate unparalleled determination and desire to learn.
Many of our students are English Language Learners and with encouragement and support, will one day be their families' first generation to pursue higher education.
My Project
Our young students are figuring out how to identify, express and manage their emotions. During the current challenges, these skills are more important than ever.
Our 3K and Pre-K students need tools to support social-emotional learning as they develop self-regulation skills and find ways to express themselves.
The Mood Memo puzzle features common emotions and allows children to match facial expressions to complete the puzzle. The Eggspression materials include a book and wooden egg-shaped faces that display common emotions. These items introduce and reinforce vital vocabulary while supporting social-emotional growth in a developmentally appropriate way.
