Students range from 14-18 and many are learning English as a second language. Located in the sunny Mission, everyday teen moms and babies come to school. Young women can start at our school while they are expecting and continue after their baby is born. Students continue with their academic education as well as learn parenting skills, healthy baby strategies and useful community resources (including jobs and money management).
Until 2014, there was no library at HHS. Our library includes books and electronic resources for academics and a makerspace as well as pleasure reading.
Our students have very busy lives filled with school, homework, jobs and family responsibilities of caring full-time for an infant! When they come to school, they are eager to learn both academic work, parenting skills and work related skills.
Students will explore new ways to create using the 3Doodle pens. As leaders, they will develop guidelines and directions for using 3Doodle pens.
They will also research a variety of ideas and applications then plan their projects writing out step by step directions.
After they finish their projects they will review and revise the project steps so other students can use these directions, too.
The teen leaders will also plan and organize for the use of this new tool. They will make sure that other students use the pens carefully. They will make sure the pens are stored safely and securely, too.

In science we can learn more about how the 3Doodle pens work, too. It will be interesting to learn how to create 3-D without the printer! Then we can make a step by step direction movie & share on YouTube.
I saw some great projects on Pinterest and I think we can do some great art projects.
I will share and help write up guidelines and directions. I will post the rules for using the pens & putting all the materials away.
I would like to help with the pens & I will practice & do directions for an easy project that other kids can try. I will ask other students to share their creations & share directions, too.
Lots of students here want to learn more about technology. This will be a fun & easy way to try out 3Doodle pens to make cute projects.
This is something really new & exciting & most schools do not have these 3Doodle pens yet. So we can learn & then share our learning with how to movies on YouTube.
