3D Thinking!

Help me give my students an Official FLSUN SR Super Racer 3D Printer so they can learn to use software to design and then print their own projects.

My Project

My students were all very excited when they discovered that we had a 3D printer in our new STEM lab. They couldn't wait to learn how to use it. Being new to 3D printing, I spent a couple of weeks learning to operate it myself so I would be able to better instruct them.

You can imagine the disappointment we all felt when our new 3D printer began having various problems and malfunctions almost on a daily basis.

I have spent hours upon hours having it looked it by individuals who know much more about 3D printers than I do, searching the internet for possible ways to fix it, I have contacted the company from which the printer was purchased, as well as posted videos showing the printer and the problems I am having trying to get it to print in online 3D printer groups hoping someone can help. Needless to say it still isn't working properly. It is my hope that my students will still have an opportunity to learn about 3D printers and how to use them this year thanks to donations made to this project.

To some people, it may seem unrealistic or unreasonable to have technology such as three-dimensional printers in all schools from elementary and beyond. In reality, 3D printing creates learning opportunities for students that they would not get without the use of this kind of technology3D printers can be a great addition to an elementary classroom. They can help students learn about design, engineering, and technology in a fun and interactive way.

With 3D printers, students can create their own designs and bring them to life in a tangible way. This can help them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as creativity and imagination.
