Help me give my students filament cartridges to use with their 3D Printer!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Cefalu's classroom raised $513
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students are part of a restricted 12:1:1 setting due to their severe social/emotional disabilities and academic delays.
All of my students live in Brooklyn, NY with low-income families, in shelters, or with foster families.
My students' home lives are extremely difficult; they display very little trust toward their peers and adults. The abuse and neglect that these children have faced in their life is something no child, or human being, should be exposed to. These teens come to school because it is where they feel "at home." Our school is a warm environment that welcomes all students, regardless of disability.
My Project
My special needs students have been learning remotely since March. They will benefit from the Makerbot 3D filament, giving them the chance to bring their learning to life.
Now, with in-person learning back in session, it is imperative that they regain skills by working on hands-on activities in the classroom.
This Makerbot 3D filament will give my students the opportunity to create something they never have before! My students will be able to use our 3D printer to create scientific models through engineering practices and the use of the scientific method. This filament will allow them to remain engaged in learning through hands-on activities and ultimately allow us to bring our lessons to life!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
