3D Printing With Students!

Help me give my students the filaments needed to 3D print with students!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. They come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and for the most part, don't have technology at home. This inequity of access to technology (both devices and internet access) is already a major challenge. COVID, however, has sort of leveled the playing field when our district provided tablets and hotspots to students in need. Now that this "new technology" is in their hands, they're able to utilize technology to find resources online and explore new tech. Because of this new interest in using technology to learn, I started a 3-D printing club after school. We purchased two 3-D printers, and showed students ways this new technology can be helpful in today's world. My club was a huge success and students were engaged, excited, and in awe of what these small printers could do. I am in need of filaments (the materials used to print with).

My Project

3D printing has the power to revolutionize the classroom. Advancements in 3D printing have made the technology more accessible and affordable, leading to their rising popularity in educational settings.

When we can thoughtfully integrate this technology into the classroom, they can improve learning outcomes like improving analytical and critical thinking skills.

3D printing is used to create hands-on learning environments, to empower creativity, to prepare students for the workforce, and more. It will

Create a Hands-On Learning Environment, Empower Creativity and Innovation, Facilitate Real-World Understanding, Prepare for Post-Graduate Plans, Bolster Digital Engagement and Improve Problem Solving Skills

I am in need of the filament that is used to create these projects.
