Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The unit and project will focus on additive manufacturing and advanced robotics/prosthetics. Students will use digital software to design a prosthetic-finger mold which will be 3D printed. Students will then fill the mold with liquid silicone to create a physical prosthetic. Prosthetics will be made functional and can be combined to create a prosthetic hand. The 3D filament, extruders and silicone are essential to the high number of students that will work on this project. Students have throughout enjoyed the entire process of this unit in the past; however, will not be able to experience the project this year without outside help funding it.
