3D Printing Parts For Robotics

My Students

My robotics team is made up of freshmen to seniors. Included,are students who know they want to be an engineer to students who are not sure. We have 14 consistent participating students and 25 students in total. We have students from all nationalities, male and female members.

Some of our students have changed their majors in college after being involved with the club.

Most of the students are in the band, in MESA, in Science clubs, all while keeping high grades. Some of our students will be the first in their family to attend college.

Our club is a student run club, as a sponsor, I act more like an adviser. The students make their own supply list, vote on their officers, decide which robotic competition we will participate in.

My Project

The students will use the filaments to become more efficient with using the 3D printers. The engineering students will be using the translucent filament for a project.

The robotics team will be using the 3D printer and this material to create parts needed during robotics competition.

Sometimes while designing robots for competition the students have difficulty finding the exact part they need or the part is too expensive to purchase.

In the engineering class students will be able to learn how to 3D print for their science projects and for any engineering projects. The different filaments will allow the students' designs to be unique.
