This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a buzz of activity, focused on giving kids the opportunities that they may not get elsewhere. My 5th grade class is in a high-need, low-income public school, nestled in the heart of Southern California. Each of the students in my class is a vibrant, excited learner who looks for the next opportunity to gain knowledge.
Each child in my classroom is a unique learner who comes to school each day ready to achieve at the highest levels.
As a teacher, it is my job to make sure the students have access to the materials they need, at all times, as well as use those materials in a way that will facilitate higher learning and achievement.
My Project
As students move towards creative solutions to the problems of our future, they must begin to think outside of the box. Traditional methods that have worked in the past simply aren't good enough as we move into the third decade of the 21st century.
3D Printing is the key to problem solving in the future.
Students will be able to create hands-on solutions to those problems facing our world. Having a 3D printer and additional filament in our classroom will enable my students to have a practical and accessible means to work through issues and problems in our society.
The 3D printer is a vital and necessary tool for any 21st century classroom. It is something that I feel my students would benefit greatly from.
