Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Access to a 3D printer will allow me to create a variety of custom tools and toys for preschoolers with disabilities. Since each child has unique needs, it can be difficult to find accessible and affordable toys and specific tools in regular stores.
My goal is to design and make tools and sensory/fidget toys to foster language, fine motor, and sensory development.
With the endless possibilities a 3D printer offers, I can create customized items tailored to the individual needs of our preschoolers and headstart students.
Our students are truly unique, each with their own special qualities, making it a rewarding experience to work with them. Since our Headstart program receives new groups of children every two years, their needs constantly evolve. We want to ensure our students leave for kindergarten with tools and skills that will continue to support them in their next educational phase.
