3D Printing Adventure

My Students

Kids love technology! It's the world they live in, and it's critical that students learn the necessary skills to be better prepared for a digital future. In order to learn those skills, opportunities need to be present in the classroom and accessible to all learners.

We live in a very small, rural town with a county population of around 1,000 and a K-12 school population of roughly 170 students.

Because of our smaller class sizes, fun learning projects and activities have been fairly easy to do with limited resources. In the past, it's been easy to share. But in today's world, technology is advancing so quickly, and it's imperative that students have easy access to proper tools for transforming their education into something meaningful.

My Project

My students have been learning all kinds of technology skills this year. We started with 3D pens; which are awesome as an introduction! We would now like to expand our knowledge and design skills to include printed models of our creations.

With the 3D printer and included curriculum, I'll be able to push my students further and broaden their knowledge of design with CAD software and instruction.

These students have had a brief introduction to this a few years ago, but have never gone further with their designs. A machine like this would greatly help in my vision for my students regarding technology and their futures.
