My Project
I have always loved how engineering skills can be used in the smallest ways and that is what I want to share with my students. The satisfaction my students can feel designing something they will use at home far outweighs any design they can find online, no matter how simple.
My students are excited to take the first engineering class available in their high school career.
Unfortunately, the plans for 3D printers fell apart this past summer. I want my students learning and using technology that they can carry with them later in life. Building projects out of cardboard and scissors can be satisfying, but it is not the career skills that my students need so much.
Being able to bring career education to my students while giving them freedom to follow their own ideas is my dream as a teacher. There is nothing I have used that allows students more creative freedom than a 3D printer and the software that lets them imagine the solution to whatever problems they might face.
