3D Printers Take Us to the Next Dimension

My students need two 3D printers and filament.

My Students

JM Elementary School services K-5 students in Philadelphia. The families and neighbors here are close and supportive. Unfortunately, the student population is 100% economically disadvantaged.

At our school, we are very proud of our school community.

We are a community of diverse students dedicated to becoming lifelong learners and productive citizens. All of the students here follow the 3 Rs which represent our core beliefs. The students are Respectful, Responsible and Ready.

My Project

Students will be using the 3D printers and accompanying filament to create all sorts of things. The printers are part of an effort to incorporate S.T.E.A.M. (Science, technology, engineering, and math). Students will design 3D objects from keychains and action figures to engineering and architectural structures. By doing so, students will also develop 21st century skills, problem solve, and experiment with cutting edge technology!

The projects that students undertake with the 3D printer will help generate their interest in S.T.E.A.M careers!

Interest in these career fields has been falling as the subjects have been deemphasized in our schools. Please consider donating for the students at my school.
