Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students are excited for school each and every day, looking forward to after school extracurricular activities such as our robotics club. However, as with any 6th grader, their attention spans leave something to be desired. They truly want to learn and give it their all; however, their environment requires them to share their attention between multiple things. Their neighborhood is next to government housing and has very little healthy food choices. They have very few entertainment options compared to students in low poverty areas.
My Project
Our robotics club could really use a 3d printer to assist with our robot design and functions. Through the use of the device we can design and create our own mechanical parts for our robots. We can also utilize the 3d printer in other various clubs such as MESA.
3D printers offer an amazing outlet for creativity and problem solving in our robotics club.
This will push our students to truly become problem solvers during their club time after school. Through this our students can gain better skills. My vision is for this device to be used by my entire school and not just my classroom alone.
