My students are the light of my life! We all come from such diverse backgrounds and together, each day is made better for it. Our Title I school is the educational hub for over 600 students. Some of whom travel from as far as ten miles out. Early morning bus rides are just one of many struggles that some of our students face daily. As a Title 1 school, many of our students come from high poverty backgrounds and have little access to educationally rich experiences that will shape their future.
No child should miss out on exceptional learning opportunities due to limited circumstances.
It is my goal to bring highly interactive experiences to my students and to help them integrate a passion for learning into their daily lives.
First off, how can rockets NOT make a difference in student learning? Rockets are among the greatest tools to reinforce the laws of motions, while also improving basic engineering skills through the construction of the models.
This is an interactive and memorable experience will last a lifetime for all students involved.
Students will select an appropriate Estes model kit based on their personal skill level and build the model following detailed directions in the classroom. Then, as a group, we will reinforce of prior learning on the laws of motion using excellent rocketry lesson plans designed by NASA, on school grounds.
