3...2...1.. Blast Off Into Our Solar System!

My students need hands-on activities, such as games, puzzles, fact finders, and books to help motivate learning about our solar system.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

To the moon and beyond! This is where I want to take my students but of course that is not physically possible. However, what is possible with your help, is the ability to provide hands-on learning experiences with the materials I am requesting. Help us bring the solar system into our classroom.

My classroom consists of six students with autism.

My students live in a low income community with limited resources. Due to the economic crisis our school district is facing, it has been a challenge for me, as their teacher, to provide instruction during science that piques their interest. My students are visual learners, which is why I believe the materials I am requesting for our unit on the solar system will strike curiosity and exploration in each of my students.

My Project

The resources I am requesting will provide each and every one of my students with hands-on learning experiences. The solar system fact finder is a 3-D model which will allow my students to discover fascinating facts about the 8 planets and the sun. The solar system activity tub will provide opportunities to conduct exciting experiments. I believe that providing books for each lesson allows the imagination to soar. With these books my students will take a field trip through space with every page turned. They will learn why stars twinkle and observe the phases of the moon. Furthermore, learning centers will provide engaging activities for small group instruction. The science file folder games, science instant learning centers and solar system match- ups game are materials that will help me give students fun learning opportunities. As my students put together the solar system puzzle, they will create a vibrant image of our solar system.

Your generous donation is greatly appreciated.

By helping our project you are making a difference in my students' educational journey. I strive to provide fun and engaging lessons for my students, which is why I am here. With your help you will allow us to explore the solar system in various ways. I thank you in advance for believing in our project. So what do you say, will you help us blast off into our solar system?
