My Students

We often have discussions in my class about what student's plans are for their future. These moments bring a sense of personal joy because I think to myself, "I get to be part of these students journey..."

I have the honor of cultivating future video game designers, healthcare professionals, athletes, engineers, scientists, artists, and anything else my students strive to be.

For at least one school year, I get to support my students in becoming their future self. It's an important responsibility, but a tremendous privilege that I am grateful for.

My Project

For the past few years, my students have been highly interested in the "Sarah, Plain, and Tall" series. In my first year of teaching, my students were disappointed that we only had copies of the first book. In my second year of teaching, I purchased a class set of the second book, but my students were again disappointed that they could not read on to the next book. Eventually, I received a few copies of the remaining books in the series. However, not enough copies for students to be fully invested in the books.

Having students interested in a book series, but not having the proper amount of books accessible for effective reading instruction is disheartening.

With your generous donation, this can be alleviated for my future students. I understand the cost of books can be expensive, so I am asking only for enough copies so students no longer have to read in groups of 3, but can read alone or with a partner.
