Help me give my students the filaments we need to 3-D print and ink for our classroom printer.

My Project
Our students missed opportunities for hands-on learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic. As a secondary science teacher, I am playing catch-up with them by providing as many opportunities as possible for them to have hands-on experiences with their classmates in a safe environment. In the last grant, one of the items I received was a classroom printer so students could print in the classroom and I could as well, keeping students and myself in the classroom and not out exposed and roaming the halls to get to the workroom to pick up their work. This ink will help in that regard in that I won’t have to spend my paycheck for our printing needs. Another exciting thing I am doing is teaching my students to create CAD designs. Students learn to create Computer Assisted Designs via TinkerCad software, learning to use constraints, design, revise designs, and measure and then, using a 3-D printer I have in my room, print the designs they have created. This is something students could not possibly do remotely as a 3-D printer is not something our rural students have access to at home. Students grow so much from this project and many become skilled enough to apply for our robotics program here at the high school. The filament would enable this project to continue this year and provide another group of students the opportunity to learn to work as a team to create their own designs. All students, at all levels, especially post-pandemic, need every opportunity I can provide to interact with other students, to problem solve, and to be successful.
