This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kiddos live in a high poverty area. My school is a Title I school. Everyday is a struggle for some, more than others. Giving them the opportunity to do hands-on center rotations lets our tactile learners excel.

Learning is remembered when manipulatives are used.

Using other senses helps to differentiate for different types of learners. My goal for my classroom is to create a break from everyday bookwork and worksheets. When we do stations, they get so excited because we get to move around the room while learning.

My Project

The ETA hand2mind Daily Math Fluency Kits and other math manipulatives are an important part of hands on learning. These supplies will help my kinesthetic learners to achieve number sense and automaticity.

The ability to be successful will build the self-esteem that they need.

Number sense does not come easily for all students. Manipulatives can help even the playing field when it comes to success during math center rotations.

Being able to supply materials for my class is important to me because I have so many children at different levels of learning. As they progress, they will be able to do team and independent work to build automaticity.
