Help me give my students a new incubator to hatch chickens each spring, an amazing experience that my students will remember even after they graduate!

My Project

I have been hatching chicks for the past 20 years in my second grade classroom! Every year, we get the eggs from local farmers. We hatch the eggs, candle the eggs, learn about the life cycle of chickens, and watch their development for the next few weeks. Then, the chickens are returned to the farmers and the next year, we get to hatch their eggs!

This is an experience like no other in the classroom!

I frequently run into past students who instantly ask if I am still hatching the chicks. They say it was the most memorable experience in elementary school.

My incubator is now 20 years old and is not holding its temperature anymore. I am asking for a new incubator to continue this project for the next 10 years of my teaching career. Please help me continue this wonderful experience for my second graders.
