They work hard, put forth their best efforts, and their resiliency after Hurricane Michael is second to none!
After Hurricane Michael many of my students were without power for weeks, and a number of them (including myself) do not have homes, and are living in temporary housing situations. Our county went from 63 students meeting the definition of homeless to over 1200.
The destruction surrounding my students and our school is indescribable, but everyday my students come to school with an amazing attitude. The students have shown concern for each other, and the teachers, during these extreme times. They have listened to each others stories, and have shown extreme flexibility in the day to day. The students have not had a playground or many "normal" outdoor activities they were accustomed to as the playgrounds were destroyed.
My Project
Through the use of new Chromebooks, my students will be able to use reliable technology to reach their personal education goals. My students will now have access to researched based educational programs that will support the education of our classroom. My students currently have limited access to current technology in the classroom. With new capabilities, students will be able to focus on the academic material and not on whether or not their tablet will work correctly.
With this technology, my students will be able to work from anywhere in our class using different websites to enhance their educational experience.
My students are strong, resilient, and ready to conquer the rest of their 2nd grade year!
