My Project
My class has a passion for reading and especially loves our read aloud time each day! We are currently reading The Wild Robot, by Peter Brown. This book has captivated my students so much that they are sad that it is coming to an end.
We have been learning about themes and how lessons characters learn in books can connect to our own lives.
So far students have learned lessons about perseverance, empathy and adapting to challenging experiences. I would LOVE the opportunity to further their curiosity about the theme of kindness and animals with the Newberry Award winning chapter book, The One and Only Ivan.
With your help, your donation would provide each student with their own copy of The One and Only Ivan. Once we are finished reading the chapter book, students will be able to take their book home. With each book that students are able to bring home, they are able to build a library of their own to keep or share with others. This helps foster an even richer love of reading that goes beyond the classroom and hopefully helps students become lifelong readers!
