2nd Grade Rocks with Technology!

My students need iPads to connect with the world. They can do independent research, problem solve, practice reading and math skills and be tech savvy at the same time.

My Students

Our 2nd grade is constantly moving from one area of learning to another. The highlight is when there is technology in our classroom, however with 26 children, it's hard to manage sometimes. My "digital natives" thrive with technology and I'm seeking to add more devices to our learning environment.

26 vibrant second grade students are ready for more hands on technology.

They have an insatiable appetite for learning and get so excited with what technology can bring to our class. Our world is full of 21st century opportunities and I constantly am on the look-out to help my 7 and 8 year old students learn with the outside world. What a great gift to give these students the opportunity to collaborate with another school in another state or even in another country. Our teaching and learning has changed in this world and I want to give my students all the opportunities they deserve. Whether it's for reading, writing, or math, these iPads will be used all day long in all curricular areas. Our school is striving to add more technology devices each year and I'm trying to help as well.

My Project

From the onset of the day, these iPads would be used in all curricular areas. It could be reading sight words, counting money, creating a tutorial to show me what they have learned in math, or typing and creating a video story, etc..... the opportunities are endless. You constantly hear the saying, "there's an app for that", and that is the truth! A timer, a note-taker, a drill and practice app, or online research, my second graders will have them working all day long.

We share computers and devices (2 to an iPad).

These new iPads will enable at least 4 more students the ability to work at one time. They will learn, search, create, practice, and be technology enabled. With your donation, you are building a brighter future for these young learners!
