My students need materials like copy paper, binders, glue, folders and sentence strips to stay organized as well as for everyday use int the classroom.

My Students

My 2nd grade students deserve the best education that I can offer. At this age, they love to color, create, write, imagine, and try new things. This classroom is in a high poverty area of North Philadelphia. I would like this classroom to be an oasis that they could call their safe place.

My students strive to learn as much as they can and love being in the classroom.

At this age, they need structure and routine. Philadelphia School District provides their teachers with a very low budget, if any. I believe that a beneficial routine and structure would carry with my students through life.

My Project

My students will be using the requested materials daily. The following items would be used for organization: folders, 2 binders for each student, Velcro, and laminating pouches. Students would use the requested Elmer's glue and construction paper to create new projects. Writing tools are also needed for our new writing program. I have requested notebooks, sentence strips, paper, pencils, a paper easel pad, and erasers for this reason.

Being in North Philly, my students are of the highest poverty, meaning their guardians can barely afford even a book bag for their children, let alone notebooks and enough pencils for the year.

I believe that my students deserve the best and I will try every way to make that happen.
