2nd Grade Math Marvels!

My students need books about math! Teaching a class with exceptional learners, tools like books about math will bring learning to a new level. Being able to read about math concepts will enhance their understanding!

My Students

As an inclusion teacher in a title one school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. As an educator I am determined to make our learning environment engaging for ALL learners. Every child has the ability to learn when given the proper accommodations and seating to meet their individual needs.

From the minute they walk in my classroom, I focus on a student's potential growth academically throughout the school year.

In my classroom we ask questions. We talk and encourage each other to try again when we make mistakes. Mistakes are good, because learning is our goal, not perfection. I may not be able to control home lives, and factors outside of school. However I can try to create a positive learning environment. I hope to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path to success and self confidence. I have a class of learners that are a perfect blend of general education learners, as well as learners with exceptionalities. My students love teacher lead small groups.

My Project

I have the best 2nd grade class ever! These students are eager to learn each day they come to school. This class loves our math block we start with each morning. They are engaged, most complete their homework daily and partcipate in the lesson. They love telling me how they use their math skills in and out of the classroom. We would love to have this set of grade level appropriate books to add to our center time! At the end of our day we have center rotations where students are assigned different centers from math games, teacher lead group, technology based and technology based learning. We would love to add math reading to our centers! If we are able to get this addition to our library we would be able to use them daily!
