Help me give my students markers, watercolor paper, timer, solar system model kit, and more, for an engaging exploration of the solar system in our space unit!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
3...2...1...blast off! One of our last (and favorite) units in 2nd grade is learning about space. This is such an exciting topic for little learners, and I hope we can make it even more engaging with some new materials and books.
Help us integrate art, science, math, reading, and writing as we explore the solar system!
With these new materials, not only can students read about the planets, but they will be able to see a model of the solar system and project the stars onto our classroom ceiling. Then we can create watercolor paintings of planets and galaxies. My students love any hands-on materials that they can explore, and I love how these memorable experiences bring joy to our classroom.
We love to conclude this unit with a Space Party where students can share their leaning and creations. Some fun party favors (like space pencils and space shuttle gliders) will make this day extra special!
