Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

More than 80% of the students at school are Hispanic and almost 95% of the student population identify as low income. 56% are English Language Learners.This project will specifically be helping the second grade bilingual and gifted students that want to create change in the world with so many injustices.

The students are social justice warriors that are trying to become global citizens that tackle injustices in the world.

My second graders know that they are more than capable of changing the world and they are working hard to do so.

My Project

My classroom along with another second grade classroom are collaborating in becoming global citizens. We want to partner with UNICEF Kid Power Ups in order to students tackle an injustice. With the Kid Power Bands, kids have even more power to help more children around the globe. UNICEF Kid Power is the first wearable device to permanently connect activity to real-world impact.

When students get active with their Kid Power Band, their activity unlocks therapeutic food packets that UNICEF delivers to severely malnourished children.

With the UNICEF Kid Power Band, users are making an impact in their own communities and around the world.
