This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting Quantitative and Nonverbal games for my 2nd graders at both of my schools. I would like to have the games in my Gifted classroom and for all of the 2nd grade teachers at both of my schools. I am hoping that with the exposure to these types of games, it will help bring up gifted test scores and also help identify more gifted students. The games will help the students with this type of logical thinking they might not normally have exposure to at home or in the general education classroom.
There was a recent study done with a school district in Arizona that tested their 2nd graders with the cogat gifted test.
The 2nd grade students unfortunately scored low, but the following year, the school district had the now 3rd graders play Quantitative and Nonverbal games at least once a week. They saw an improvement in their gifted test scores. I am hoping with these gifted games will help bring up the gifted test scores for both of my schools.
