This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials I am requesting are essential to the learning that my students will be doing in the classroom this year. Each item on this list serves a very specific purpose. The carpet is where we come together and spend important time learning, getting to know each other, and growing in our social emotional skills. The headphones will be used by every student to read, research, and even record their own presentations. Headphones are especially helpful to the developing language skills of English Language Learners in my community with over 40+ languages spoken by students in the district. The fidgets will be specifically used to help students focus and stay calm during reading testing.

By donating to this project, you will be providing my students with the 3 things they need to be successful during whole group instruction, independent work time, and important testing.

This is my third year teaching and I believe these items are going to significantly help my students this year! Having a specific spot for students to sit on at the carpet eliminates student argument. Providing headphones and not expecting parents in a low income district to purchase them is a major need. Finally, purposefully fidgeting increases the success of students with testing anxiety. These three donations would be an incredible addition to any classroom!
