This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a dynamic bunch of 2nd graders that remind me of what is still great in the world. They are eager to learn and discover the world around them. We are 1 of 20 schools that make-up Uplift Education. We are Uplift Might and our name was given to us to honor the location of our school. We inhabit an area that was once designated for the orphans of one of the Masonic Lodges in this area of Ft. Worth here in Texas. Those children despite there situation went on to form teams that competed at the highest level and were called the Mighty Mites. They were mighty and we are too!

My Project

I want to introduce the world of coding to my 2nd graders. My students are 21st Century learners and I have to treat them as such! The Chromebooks that I am praying for are not just a need but a requirement. Google classroom and all it's resources are needed even at this level. I want to introduce keyboarding and typing skills to my 2nd graders. I am trying to prepare them to compete on a global level and the technology is required to give my 2nd grades access to a host of resources that will prepare them to impact the future.
