This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The 2nd-grade is studying butterfly migration in a few weeks. We would love to observe butterflies' lifecycles in person, so students can make meaning of the scientific texts we are reading.

The butterfly kits will allow each of our four 2nd-grade homerooms to watch the butterflies grow in their rooms.

The journals and pencils will give students a place to store their observations and make them feel like real scientists. At the end of our unit, we will celebrate their achievements with some fun butterfly erasers. Thank you for your generosity!
