My Students
Squeeze your eyes tight.... No peeking!!!! Now picture students literally dancing into their Brooklyn New York classroom each morning while the music is blasting as I embrace my kiddies with huge hugs and tons of caffeine free energy each morning! I crave a busy classroom bursting at the seams with positive almost hypnotic energy! This is my classroom community in a nutshell every day! My Adams Family Crew and I have a great time while we learn every single day!!!!!!
My goal as a teacher other than to provide amazing learning opportunities for my kiddies is to make sure that beyond my classroom walls, that they are wonderful, independent, fearless, and loving citizens of the world!
I am blessed to be starting my 15th year of teaching in NYC in September! I'm most proud and humble in those moments when I bump into former students and families who remind me of how special I made their children feel as a student! Who are my students? They are my squad... My crew! They are the students at my school who feel important, loved, celebrated, empowered, and special!

Have you ever gotten totally lost in a great book?
I wish for my Adams Family 2nd grade classroom library area to be a comfy space where my kiddies can journey to other worlds through literature.
I wish for my Brooklyn children to escape through books as they climb famous mountain peaks, solve mysteries, save the word with their super hero friends, hear fans cheer for them as a member of their favorite professional athletic team, as well as meet historical figures who paved the way for them long long ago...or just hang out with space aliens, wizards, and friendly giants like the BFG!
Besides being fun, having access to a rich classroom library is beneficial in many ways. Reading helps with writing skills by providing children with a "feel" for language. Reading expands vocabulary, increases stamina as you get lost in a good book, as well as increases comprehension and the ability to form and apply complex sentences and abstract ideas across many genres.
Books are magical and early exposure to them will help to create a life long love for written and spoken language for generations!!!!
