Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a Title One school, with almost 80% of our students on free and reduced lunch. We live in a very transit area, and our school prides itself on being a supportive community for our kids. We get together often and provide our students with many outlets of expression. This year we are having a Cheer Club, who will perform at our final spirit day assembly.
Participating in Cheer Club will help our students build a strong sense of teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
This is a form of physical fitness as well, which is very important. Cheerleading involves learning and mastering complex routines. Students will also gain experience performing in front of crowds.
Our Cheer Club will also be "friends" to the whole school. They will be examples of kindness, spirit and generosity. We already have matching school T-shirts that they will wear. We are in need of matching shorts, socks and pom poms. We will have a club size of no more than 24 students. They will wear their cheer gear on club days and spirit days. Please help support us!
