My kindergarten students are eager to learn and soak up as much as I can give them. We work in centers in my classroom to allow students to receive small group instruction in Reading and Math. Our day is busy and packed with instruction, but my students really enjoy our center times.
I am a Kindergarten teacher in a neighborhood school in South Carolina.
I have 21 students in my class. Our school is a Title 1 school with over 70% of our students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. My students begin kindergarten with a variety of math skills and on a variety of levels. I use the Guided math model with math centers to help differentiate and meet all of my students needs. My students are able to be taught at their individual levels in small groups.
My Project
My students and I enjoy math centers, but I do not have enough math manipulatives for them to use. Students have to share the manipulatives and I want to have enough for each student! My students will use these math manipulatives during math centers every morning. These help my students as they are learning to count, add, subtract, and compare numbers. The hands on activities we use help build excitement for math. My students want to learn more and enjoy working together.
Your donation to this project will help my students learn math skills and build their excitement for math.
The more they are excited about math, the more they will want to learn. This will help them even as they move on to their next classes and grades.
