Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My high school students come from low-income families. The majority of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. They often lack the funds to experience cultural activities on their own time. Our population is African-American and Hispanic.
They're very enthusiastic and work hard to reach their goals, often taking leadership roles and setting an example for the entire student body.
Even though most of the time they have everything against them, they're resilient and always try to look on the bright side. They put their best effort to accomplish their goals.
My Project
My current laptop is very old and unfortunate I am not able to utilize it to teach at my school. My students deserve to be taught with the most current technology and unfortunately the current laptop I does not meet those needs.
The updated laptop would help me provide more engaging lessons which is critical during distance and hybrid learning.
Helping my students prepare for the 21st Century requires 21st Century technology that is fast and reliable. This laptop would allow me to complete all tasks without wasting any instructional time as we wait for websites and others programs to load thus maintaining their attention.
