Ms. Mathis from East Point GA is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 3 HP Chromebook laptops to help support research, story writing, blogging and project-based learning within my classroom.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our students are confident to learn, hungry to explore, eager to grow, and striving to soar! A typical morning in the classroom is energetic. Students are rarely sitting down. They are collaborating, engaging with one another, and striving towards creating an interactive environment.
My students come from a low income area where they have limited access to technology.
This project would let them have usage to use the technology with the standards. The students are from a suburban metro area. 100% of the students are on free breakfast and lunch. Often times students come to school without what they need. The school is small and nurturing and tries to meet their needs with limited resources. Students want to succeed and having any opportunity will help them grow.
I am requesting 3 HP Chromebook laptops to become an inspired, technology based classroom. The use of the Chromebooks will help push our classroom towards becoming a one to one classroom, where every student in the class will eventually have access to technology devices throughout the day, to help gear and guide their own learning. Students will use the Chromebooks to create mini movies reenacting experiments that support the science standards. They will be able to share their work with their parents. The students will write blog responses to critical thinking questions and topics studied in social studies. In addition, students can use apps to reinforce concepts and create study aids and multimedia projects to show understanding of mathematical content standards. Students can also use the Internet to research topics to support their learning.
Students will be able to use technology that they don't necessarily have the opportunity to use in their daily life.
Also, the technology will be used as a tool to support their learning.
