ESHS is a Title I Turnaround School. We serve approximately 720 students in grades 9-12. Our school offers universal free lunch to all of our student population. At our school 98% of our students are African American, 1% are Hispanic or Latino, and 1% are other. The majority of our students come from low income households, but what I love about them is that they are resilient, demonstrate perseverance, and are forthright.
The laptops in the library are over nine years old. They are slow and some are missing keys. They have been thoroughly used and I have no more headphones for student use. It is vital that I have new technology to replace the older equipment in the library for students.
The requested tablets and headphones are basic equipment for the library to provide students with the necessary tools to properly complete their assignments.
The library is the place that students turn to for all their educational needs. It is imperative that I am prepared to serve our students with the best possible equipment.
