21st Century Skills With Dash and Dot Robots

My students need 21st century skills and experiences despite their socioeconomic status. My students need two Wonder Packs.

My Students

My first grade students come from greatly varied home lives with many unable to have access to technology at home. My job is prepare them with 21st Century skills despite the socioeconomic disadvantage many of them are experiencing in their lives.

Every student in our district receives free lunch because of our district's socioeconomic status and an outside group provides free backpack food for the weekends for many of our students.

I need to help these students be prepared for the future despite this status.

My Project

Dash and Dot are robots that help the students learn programming skills at a very young age. They provide a fun and non-threatening environment for learning difficult but necessary skills. Providing this opportunity to economically disadvantaged students could change their lives forever. 90% of the jobs these students will be employed in have not yet been created because they are future technology related.

Teamwork is an essential skill that employers are always searching for and Dash and Dot allow First Graders to practice and perfect that skill.

The students work together to build communication and necessary life skills through their interactions with these fun robots.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
