This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is fairly new and has been expanding each year. This year we have reached our year of completion. We serve a wealth of students in a low-income, high poverty public school district in the Bronx, NY. Our students receive free or reduced-price lunches.

My 4th grade reading class is home to some of the kindest, most thoughtful students who are eager to learn and grow each and every day.

I serve a range of diverse students, from students with disabilities to students who are learning English as their second language and learners in between. I am blessed with the opportunity to work with and meet the needs of these eager young learners.

My Project

In today’s world, technology offers students a wealth of knowledge that can be accessed with the one touch of a finger. These tables will be able to engage students in a fun, interactive way while still meeting their academic needs.

Adding tablets to our classroom will empower my students to have access to technology that they otherwise may not have access to at home.

The tablets will allow students to engage in interactive learning centers, online activities and independent reading. Students will be able to better understand grade-level content, reinforced through websites and apps like iReady, Raz-Kids and many more.
