My Students

Geometry is found all around us on a daily basis. However, our students are not always given the proper exposure to truly grasp its importance. Geometry can come alive for students when they are given the right tools. Please help my students have the chance to explore geometric concepts with manipulatives.

My classroom is the meeting place for a wonderful group of 4th graders, all from very diverse backgrounds.

As they learn and grow each day, I have come to find that they are the most perseverant group of children out there. The transition into 4th grade is a tough one, but these students are flourishing more than ever before. My students are a very inquisitive group and would thrive even more with the right tools. My students need math manipulatives, including geometric solids, nets, protractors, and a Chromebook for enrichment activities.

My Project

By having these geometry tools and manipulatives, I can focus on creating engaging, meaningful lessons, and students can focus on learning and developing critical thinking skills. The manipulatives provide the students with the opportunity to explore mathematical concepts at a deeper, more meaningful level. The students walking into our classrooms are learning and communicating in much different ways than we did in school. They are of a generation that lives and breathes technology. The Chromebook will be beneficial in meeting the needs of all students. It will provide students the opportunity to practice/master math facts, along with allowing enrichment opportunities for students to create math-related presentations, models, and projects.

This project is essential for my students because it assists in building excitement and fosters an eagerness to learn and explore in school.

The students deserve every opportunity to engage in the learning process and to be immersed in an interactive learning environment.
