My students need an interactive way to see and take notes within the classroom. All of the resources requested will work together to bring math more into the 21st century with electronic notes and activities.
The students within our building are innovative, creative, and passionate. These students are high achieving and greatly invested in their education. This year I am teaching what I am passionate about and that is math.
My students are also passionate about math and the endless possibilities that math can bring them.
They work hard day in and day out and enjoy learning. My students learn in a number of different ways and resources are always needed in order to help make their educational experiences great ones!
My Project
All of these resources are going to impact the learning of my students in substantial ways! They will all work together to help bring math to life and into the 21st century. With students being visual learners and with only 45 minutes of class I find myself running out of time to get through all the materials. I find that time is wasted rewriting problems, switching colored markers, erasing and moving around the room to check their work and process.
With these materials I will be able to freely move about the room, while teaching and reaching all types of learners.
The Apple TV (with the HDMI cord) will allow the iPad Pro to connect and project on the TV in my room. With the iPad Pro and Apple Pen, I will be able to freely move about the room and project math steps, examples, projects, visuals, etc and I will be able to mark up these examples with different colors, highlighters, etc. with the stylus pen. The keyboard case will help create story problems, or add additional notes, all while be flexible and mobile.
Being in the 21st century and working in a school with a 1:1 ratio of students and computers, this is the next step for the world of mathematics. It will help teach and reach the students in a timely and fun manner on a daily basis. It will help the students have access to teacher notes electronically as soon as they leave my classroom and will change the way I teach middle school math.
